What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, tasteless, odorless, radioactive gas that is a product of the breakdown of uranium from the rock and soil under and around your home.  Research has found radon to be the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.  The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that all homes be tested for radon, and to be mitigated if high levels of radon have been detected in your home.  Learn more about radon by reading the Buyer's and Seller's Guide to Radon or visit the Radon Home Page of the US EPA.
